The British royal family just keeps growing — and with each new arrival, Queen Elizabeth II’s legacy continues. The late monarch welcomed eight grandchildren before her death at age 96 in September 2022. While many royal fans know that generation, which includes Prince William and Prince Harry, it’s the queen’s great-grandchildren that still have Us oohing and awing today. Elizabeth’s first great-grandchild, Savannah Anne Kathleen, was born in December 2010 to her daughter Anne, Princess Royal’s son, Peter Phillips, and his now-ex wife, Autumn. The eldest of the royal family’s youngest generation became a big sister in March 2012 when Isla Elizabeth joined the family. Then came Prince George in July 2013! The firstborn son of William and his wife, Princess Kate, had the entire world wrapped around his finger from the moment he arrived. At the time, the queen’s first great-grandson, George, became third in line for the throne. (He moved up to second in line when his grandfather King Charles III ascended the throne in fall 2022. George acted as one of four Pages of Honor at Charles’ coronation in May 2023). “May he be long-lived, happy, and glorious, and one day reign over us!” the royal crier shouted prior to George’s birth announcement placement outside of Buckingham Palace in July 2013. “God save the Queen!” As the years passed, many new cousins were added to the children’s roster of lifelong friends. Mia, the first child of Zara Tindall (née Phillips) and her husband, Mike Tindall, was born in January 2014. Next came George’s baby sister, Princess Charlotte, in May 2015. Their younger brother, Prince Louis, arrived three years later in April 2018. All three of William and Kate’s kids are in front of Harry when it comes to the monarchy’s royal line to the throne. One month after Louis’ birth, a source told Us Weekly exclusively that Charlotte had a “great bond” with her siblings. One month later, Harry and Meghan’s daughter, Lilbet “Lili” Diana, was born in June 2021. While her first name honors her great-grandmother Elizabeth, her middle name (like her cousin Charlotte Elizabeth Diana) is a tribute to Harry and William’s late mother, Princess Diana.
